Short-run book boom convinces Adelaide printer to buy fourth HP Indigo

Director Mike Minahan described the Indigo 7500, which will be replacing a 7000 model, as “the best press on the market”. He added that the investment would significantly improve capacity and help the company push into targeted markets.

“The short-run book market is providing us with steady growth and we are now able to produce everything in-house including hard covers, which makes an enormous difference to turnaround times,” he said.

Minihan added that the print house views the press as a piece of offset kit rather than digital.

“The Indigos are offset, these are real offset printers using ink. The only difference is that they give us the ability to produce offset quality without the set-up time and costs.”

According to Digi-we-doo, the machine’s white ink printing capabilities have also been a pull for creative agencies.

The 14-staff printer claimed it has the strongest digital presence in South Australia.
