Signwave supports blood donation

Signwave Australia has teamed up with Red Cross Australia for a national campaign asking its clients and business partners to donate blood before they head overseas during the holiday period.

Signwave general manager Linda Sultmann says donating is something people of all ages and from all walks of life can do to help.

“Unfortunately, everyone knows someone – or will know someone – who needs lifesaving blood either through illness or accident,” says Sultmann.

The campaign is a Facebook-based competition asking people take a photo of their visit to a Red Cross blood donor centre and upload it to the ‘show us a sign you care’ Facebook photo contest timeline, with the hashtags: #showusasignyoucare and #save3lives.

Entrants for the competition have until January 31 to upload their donation photo to social media.

The competition has two categories, individual entrants or business. The business category winner will receive $3000 worth of signage for their business, and the individual category winner will receive Audio Technica high-res audio headphones worth $549. There will also be daily prizes for the most likes with the winner getting a t-shirt.

The business entrant must have at least three people from the same business in the photo to qualify.

Sultmann says, “We know that our customers, colleagues, and community are very giving people – and what better time to encourage and reward this generosity than during the holiday season when donations are so crucial.”
