Sydney-based mmw3degrees goes into administration

mmw3degrees, a specialist provider of one-to-one customer communications and one of Australia’s oldest direct marketing companies, has gone into administration.

Documents filed with the Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) show the company, under the business name of Mail Marketing Works Pty. Ltd, appointed liquidator Philip Raymond Hosking as its administrator on 20 December.

The move to file for administration follows the business switching over hands to Jennifer Slarke on 10 November.

Slarke took over the company’s management when its founder and former managing director Laurie Griffiths passed away earlier this year. Slarke is Griffiths’ ex-wife.

The late Laurie Griffiths

Griffiths was at the helm of the business from 1995 when it was first inaugurated and in his time, built a successful company which saw much praise.

However, within weeks of a change in ownership, the company has filed for administration – and the future of its staff is unknown just days before Christmas.

One of its direct mail services clients included telco giant Telstra, which used the company three years ago to migrate several email and direct mail campaigns to mmw3degrees from a previous incumbent.

The company invested in a Fuji Xerox Iridesse six-colour press in 2019 and spoke about the benefits of automating its Xerox iGen4 and older iGen3 with Fuji Xerox Australia’s Colour Managed Workflow Solution, powered by Oris, in 2012.
