Sydney software DaVinci reaches international markets

Sales and marketing director Oliver Mergen had been confident that DaVinci brought a level of automation to MIS operations that was missing in the marketplace, and drupa has confirmed his suspicions.

Perched among the many booths in the Innovation Parc, Mergen told ProPrint that numerous printers from Canada, China, India and elsewhere had expressed genuine interest in the ability of DaVinci to automatically handle estimation, layout and imposition, and the full suite of administrative duties normally requiring staff.

“Chinese printers have come to drupa to find ways of automating their production as wages in China climb. They’re now looking for workflow solutions to automate production and rein in their costs.”

Mergen has been demonstrating direct examples of JDF connectivity and resulting efficiencies with Komori and Screen on the stand, with Heidelberg and Kodak projects going live after drupa.

“It’s been an eye opener here for us. It’s our first time as an exhibitor at drupa and we’re finding that we’re really hitting the pulse with our software. That’s a real confidence boost for us, and another example of Australian technology that can cut it with anyone.”
