Heidelberg releases image software

Supercolor is an Adobe Acrobat plug-in that enables users to analyse the colours and colour spaces of PDF documents and to optimise the output to different media, and supports the new ISO standardised PDF/X-3 file format.

Among other things, the programme eliminates printing problems that can occur when using PDF colour spaces such as Lab, ICCBased, DeviceN, CalRGB and DeviceRGB by transferring graphics and images to the required output colour space in accordance with a rendering intent.

ImageSmart 2.2, which was recently launched at the CeBIT trade show in Hanover, enables tab creation and image editing within a simple workflow. It does so by employing a PDF-based workflow for complex production jobs and, according to Heidelberg, is ideal for environments where frequent reprinting, repurposing and editing take place. The software is optimised for all units within the Digimaster family but is also compatible with other digital production systems.
