Océ releases new prepress software

Océ PRISMAprepare 5.1 includes a standard PDF workflow, rapid corrections and cleanup, an intuitive user interface and a true WYSIWYG preview, eliminating the need for hard copy proofs.

Damian Schaller, marketing manager DP at Océ says the software is designed to be device independent, simplifying job preparation from composition to production, offering robust cleanup, automated layout, soft proofing and basic preflighting.

New features include support for full bleed tabs, integrated colour management and simplified reprogramming of jobs with repeating pages.

Schaller says, “The new software release adds integrated colour management capabilities with advanced features for modifying image colour, brightness and saturation. Users can make last-minute changes without having to send an entire document back to prepress.

“In addition, they can replace or change colours with the click of a mouse, create custom spot colours, access standard PANTONE Matching System and HKS spot colour libraries and ensure the consistent use of company colours throughout a document.”

Océ also outlines that for jobs with repeating pages, the PRISMAprepare 5.1 software makes programming and selecting repeating pages fast and automatic. Applications that benefit from this feature include NCR or mail-merge documents where every set uses the same settings for media and finishing.
