Printers involved in the Future Print initiative have until Friday to take advantage of a free benchmarking service to help them to outperform their competitors.
The Media Super Business Benchmarking service allows business owners to find out how they are performing compared with other like organisations, both within the industry and across the general business community.
Specialist Future Print Business advisor Richard Rasmussen says several businesses have already completed the ‘easy, online questionnaire and uploaded their business data with interesting and valuable results obtained from the exercise’.

“This is a great service, with those businesses who have participated so far reporting that the results were interesting and, in many cases, surprising, providing valuable data, which they could use for future planning," he says.
“To access the service, simply go to benchmarking.com, select the projects drop down menu from the top navigation bar, select the Future Print benchmarking option and click on buy now.
"Just enter the discount code provided to you by Future Print to have the $575 waived – and prompts will then take you through the whole process.
“With easy registration and data entry, the whole process shouldn’t take more than an hour or so, which is a very small investment to highlight areas where you are doing well and outperforming your competitors, and identifying other areas where, perhaps, costs are too high, margins too low, or where performance may need attention.”
The benchmarking service is available until this Friday, June 19.

For an industry that appears not to be too healthy,
there is very little discussion on actual profit.
Articles on sales but not profit – why is that?
Businesses are generally much less willing to share their profit margins with us than turnover.
there’s a reason for that Nic, and its not because they don’t want you to know how so very good they are going…..
