A comment released by Telstra, who owns Trading Post, outlines that these days, nine out of ten Australians access the net weekly and the web is now one of the main ways people buy and sell goods.
This trend of more and more people using their computers or mobile phones to search, buy or sell products versus traditional methods is worldwide, according to Telstra.
The statement continues, “We’re listening to what is wanted and we’ve recently been making some improvements to tradingpost.com.au and our mobile site to make it much easier to place an ad, simpler search, better search results pages as well as more links and promotions across BigPond.com in order to reach more buyers.
“If you are a current print customer, discover how easy and effective it really is to advertise on tradingpost.com.au and how it can deliver great results for you.”
Telstra said 279 positions in nine locations will be made redundant as a result of the switch from print to online publishing.
