Featuring a compressible layer and new top compound, the new metal back blanket has been specifically designed for use with neutral feed applications and both conventional and UV inks.

Francesco Ferrari, technical service manager at Trelleborg says, “New presses within the heatset market, particularly those on commercial web applications, have been designed to run at high speeds and as such, they require blankets with very quick rebound and which are able to maintain good print quality for longer periods of time.

“With this in mind, we designed our new metal back blanket, the Vulcan Metal Mytho, to meet these high demands and provide a superior solution which would not only provide longer lifetime performance, but outstanding print quality and paper tension.”

Trelleborg adds the new blanket is the next generation of its successful Vulcan Mytho blanket and has been designed to combine the release capabilities of the original Mytho, with innovative metal back technology.

The company continues the new formulation of compressible layer in the Vulcan Metal Mytho provides higher gauge than standard blankets and quick rebound to cope with the high running speeds of new presses, as well as excellent smash resistance and edge mark resistance.
