Trio in race to buy Lotsa

Several buyers are eyeing off Far North Queensland’s Lotsa Printing, which went on the market last month after 21 years of operation under owner Peter Martin.

The business, which is aiming to scoop a ballpark price of $1.85m has attracted the interest of several vendors, according to Martin.

Martin told ProPrint he has made several interstate trips since the printer went up for sale, and says there are three buyers interested in purchasing the business.

“We have three keen vendors so far, but my visits to Sydney are slowing things down,” says Martin.

The veteran printer says he is looking to lock down a potential buyer late next month. He did not disclose who or what businesses were interested in snagging Lotsa Printing off the market.

Following Lotsa’s eventual sale, Martin told ProPrint he will pack up his inks and retire after more than two decades in the printing industry.

Lotsa has a workforce of 33 staff and houses a range of pre-press, offset, digital, wide format and finishing equipment in its two main production plants in Port Douglas and Cairns. It is the biggest independent print business in north Queensland.

More to come.
