Two Aussie printers take gold in HP awards

The 2011 HP Digital Print Awards (Asia Pacific and Japan) – HP Scitex, marks the second time the Awards have been held. Founded in 2010, the Awards recognise outstanding achievements, innovations and contributions by Print Service Providers (PSPs) across Asia Pacific and Japan. This year’s awards attracted a large number of entries for each of the five key categories from across the region.

Commenting on his win, Nigel Spicer, general manager of Cactus Imaging says, “Our winning entry was an Oprah Winfrey stage wrap, which was challenging due to its size, the colour matching involved and the time restraints for the job.

“With our HP equipment and skilled personal we managed to get the job done on time ans to a high quality, it’s a real satisfaction to have this recognised at the awards.”

The Platinum Award winner from across all the categories will be announced during Dscoop Asia’s gala dinner event on August 23 in Singapore.

Ivy Liang, vice president, marketing, HP Imaging and Printing Group, Asia Pacific and Japan says, “It was a huge encouragement to witness the commitment of the brand owners, agencies and print service providers to create such innovative and thrilling work.”

Winning entries were selected based on degree of innovation and creativity, marketing appeal, best use of ink and colours, creative print application installation and overall aesthetics.
