Vale Peter Friend-Ngui

The print industry will miss the late Peter Friend-Ngui, who passed away on 4 January 2024. His last post was as managing director of Craftech Visual Communications, but he was also a strong marketing lead at BJ Ball Papers and Raleigh Paper Co.

His outstanding achievements in the industry include being a key influence in the merger of CPI, Raleigh and Focus Paper in Australia under the BJ Ball banner. While at BJ Ball, Friend-Ngui played an essential role as national marketing manager in building the company’s presence across Australia and New Zealand.

The industry expressed its sadness at his passing, with the CEO of the Visual Media Association, Kellie Northwood, making the following statement.

“I am sad to write of a further loss to our industry with the recent passing of Peter Friend-Ngui. Whilst he had stepped out of the industry for some time, his role across the paper sector with Raleigh Paper, and later BJ Ball, reflected a talented, fun, and passionate personality with a key strength in building relationships, which often turned to lifelong friendships across the industry.

“His passing was felt by many, with hundreds attending his funeral, and we share our support to those grieving at this time.

“Our heartfelt condolences to Peter’s wife, Mary, their four children, family and friends. Vale Peter Friend-Ngui,” commented Northwood.
