The 2011 PICA Call for Entries hit the streets this week under a racing theme, which Trevor Hone PICA Victoria Chairman says is a good analogy for print.
He says, “The pace is fast and furious and, as so many have experienced over the years, it can be costly, challenging, frustrating and even heartbreaking.
“But when you witness the very best in the field compete against each other; it’s exciting and inspiring to see.”
The 2011 competition will feature the same 35 categories as last year’s PICA, and entrants will have the chance to win Gold, Silver or Bronze medals in each category as well as the three sponsor Awards presented by Currie Group, Heidelberg and Media Super.
A PICA Gold is also a ticket to automatic entry in next year’s National Print Awards.
Entry is open to jobs printed in Victoria between September 1, 2010 and August 26, 2011 and must be received at Printing Industries in Mulgrave by close of business on Friday, August 26.
Anyone involved in the print job can enter, be they designers, prepress houses, printers or finishers, or the client themselves.
Hone says, “With Gold, Silver and Bronze medals on offer, as well as the opportunity to enter the best of the best competition in next year’s National Print Awards, we hope the 2011 awards draw plenty of interest, not just from the well-known names from previous PICAs, but also from newcomers keen to join the field.”
