First PICA entries to close this week

Commenting on the 2010 awards, Joe Kowalewski, national communication and technical services manager at Printing Industries says 2010 heralded the continuing alignment of the state awards.

He says, “Adjustments have been made to better align the states to the National Print Awards and a common approach to the award presentations has also started with the adoption of uniform presentation medallions.”

Kowalewski continues, “The most notable of these changes is in Victoria which is replacing its previous Diamond awards with the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals.”

Following Tasmania’s presentation night at Wrest Point Casino, Western Australia will hold its African safari themed event on August 28 at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre.

South Australian and Northern Territory PICA entries close on August 11 followed by Victorian on August 17 and NSW on September 10. ACT and Queensland dates are pending as both events will not be held until November.

Also in the news, the Victorian PICA committee has launched its official website for the 2010 competition. The website is the place to go for all information about the PICA Victoria competition and the presentation dinner on October 15, according to organisers.

The site enables intending entrants to check full category details, download entry forms – and even view last year’s winners for inspiration.
