Victorian print tender model development underway

The meeting followed the government's appointment last week of Stream Solutions to manage its print requirements, following a long awaited tender process result.

Printing Industries representatives includiong Victorian and Tasmanian general manager Ron Patterson, Victorian Regional president Ray Keen and Regional councillor Mannie Stubs met with Stream Solutions deputy managing director Clyde Steele, chief operating officer Greg Higgins, and business development manager Grace Martino, and with Department of Premier and Cabinet representatives Andrew Hockley and Sally McIntyre.

Patterson said the meeting was constructive but only a first step to build a model that would ensure that the government's print job allocation system was fair to all printers and the many capabilities they offer.

He says, "Everyone seems to be in agreement with having good communication lines open with industry and with ensuring that all the job allocation processes are transparent and fair.

"Obviously much more discussion is necessary to set up and implement the agreed model and this will happen very soon.

"We will keep the industry appraised of how this develops as an important part of the transparency process," Mr Patterson said
