Victorian printer Abacus Visual enters liquidation

Victorian-based business Abacus Print and Display, trading as Abacus Visual, will be wound up following the appointment of a liquidator this week.

In a statement on its website, Abacus said: “We are authentic – no one likes a fake and they can spot them. Be true to yourself and who you are.”

According to company’s website, Clayton-based Abacus described itself as an unusual business that specialised in signage, print, design, wrap, and installation.

“We’re a different bunch of cats over here and we’re proud of it. If we were a box of chocolates, we’d be a bunch of variety mix. Not one appears the same, you need the pack to work out which is which.

“We’ve evolved over the years from a handful of team members to over 15 people spanning both sides of Australia. As we continue on our path we are always excited for what may lay around the next corner.

“We stand by our core values. Like anywhere they can be just words on a wall or document but we live and breath (sic) them here. All of our team members believe in them and already had them in their daily loves before coming on board. It is a great culmination of who we are as people and how we want to grow as a team,” the company said.

“Notice is given that at a general meeting of the members of the Company held on 20 February 2024, it was resolved that the Company be wound up and Simon Nelson be appointed liquidator,” according to a notification from the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.

Simon Nelson, the managing parent of BPS Recovery and Reconstruction and since starting his career with Australia’s largest specialist insolvency firm in 1988, Nelson, has worked on several thousand personal and corporate insolvency files, gaining a huge amount of experience in the best way to achieve the best possible outcomes from adverse circumstances.
