Visitors make one stop at Celmac

Wayne McIntyre, managing director and founder of Celmac, says, “PrintEx gives a chance to cover the digital and analogue formats and we want to be at the forefront of that. All of the machines on the stand are demo machines so visitors can see how they work and what the pros and cons are.

“We specialise in large format printing, anything from 36 inches to five metres. HP, Canon, Kodak and Mutoh number among the solutions we offer. We call ourselves a total solution company because we offer a wide range of printing solutions as well as web software, hardware plus the inks and the media.”

From its Melbourne headquarters, Celmac distributes all over Australia and it has a showroom in Sydney. McIntyre adds, “We also have finishing solutions and label solutions including our memjet label printer. We added this machine to our stable because we were affiliated with the companies that distribute and we were interested in the technology, so we have engaged with it. I think it is a really good machine. It’s an array printer, so instead of moving on an XY-axis it moves on one axis only. It can be very quick and there are no drying issues with it. You can achieve that on other machines but you would need lots of print heads. It prints at up to 18 metres per minute.”
