Print equipment supplier Walcar Graphics will host a Mini Expo in Sydney over April 3 and 4 to showcase its OKI range – including a new five-colour machine it hails as an industry first. Wal Sadlo, owner of Walcar Graphics, tells Australian Printer, “The major feature will be a five-colour printer from OKI which prints in CMYK as well as clear gloss or white – that’s an industry first, for Australia and the world. “We will be introducing the C941 to the Australian market at the Mini Expo. From a price point of view, there is nothing like it.” The C941 will sell for under $30,000 including an EFI Fiery Server.

He says the machine offers quality printing with LED technology that approaches the level of large production presses, but for a fraction of the cost. OKI says the affordable C941is designed to widen the opportunities for short run printing in the graphic and creative industries; from printing on dark coloured or transparent media to revving up the vibrancy of colours with the white or clear gloss finish. The machine will handle stock from 52-360gsm and Auto Duplex 320gsm stock in sizes from A6 to SRA3+, as well as banners up to 1.3 metres long. It can use a wide range of media including gloss paper, film, transfer paper, waterproof paper and more. Also sharing the limelight will be a new OKI on-demand envelope printer. Sadlo says this is the latest model for a machine Walcar has been supplying for years. The Mini Expo will take place from 10am to 6pm in the Synergy Room at the Waldorf Apartment Hotel in Rosehill, Sydney.
