Show floor set for three days of wide format

Visual Impact is set to open its doors today for three days of wide format equipment launches, demonstrations, workshops and networking at Sydney Olympic Park. The booming wide format sector continues to record outsize growth quarter on quarter, this week’s show is the latest opportunity to see new developments. Tuesday’s 10am kick-off will see a late night opening for the show, running till 8pm with drinks and canapés served to all visitors and exhibitors. The second day, September 10, will feature the national final for the Wrap Master Challenge car wrapping competition, with the Australian and Kiwi battle on the final day, Thursday, September 11.

Among the highlights of the show is the new Océ ColorWave 900 printer, which Canon says is the first wide format machine to exploit Memjet’s maximum speed of 18 metres a minute, making it, says Canon, the fastest wide format printer in the world. An Océ ColorWave 650 Poster Printer will turn out posters alongside the 900. Canon will display a range of Océ print and finishing kit at stand E8, including the Arizona UV flatbed printers and labour saving Océ ProCut automated finishing system. Canon’s international product manager for the ColorWave 900, Florian Hohlmann, will be present as will Attilio Mainoli, president and CEO for the Arizona technology solution, to share their expertise and knowledge. This year Neopost and HP will co-exhibit to show a range of large format print and finishing machines, including the first Australian public appearance for the HP Latex 3000. The HP Latex 300 printer series, GBC2064WF laminator, Summa Cutter T Series and HP Scitex FB500 flatbed printer will also be on display at stand C12, alongside Neopost’s roll media, printing substrates, digital and offset printer inks and laminating films. Mimaki Australia will bring its latest technology to stand B2, including latex, UV and eco-solvent print equipment, and is set to announce the launch of two new products. Yellotools creator Michael Artoff will join the Australian Visual Solutions team to demo his techniques and products amongst the company’s UV flatbed printers, cutting systems and vertical cutting tools. Roland DG will display its wide format print and engraving gear, including a trade show debut for the Versa Express RF-640, and says it will launch several new products, including 3D printers and its DisplayStudio digital signage solution. It will continue its ‘printing for a purpose’ initiative this year, producing collateral for Camp Quality, RSPCA, Raise and FBi Radio throughout the three days, and will offer special rental finance rates to visitors. Matt Horne and the Positive Camtec team will run wrap demos with Metamark’s next-generation wrapping film, MetaWrap MD-X, at stand C18. Metamark will also show off its digital and sign vinyl applications at its café stand, E4.

Positive Camtec will launch the swissQprint Nyala 2 UV flatbed printer, with live demonstrations and experts on hand to answer questions. EFI will show off its H1625 LED wide format inkjet printer, with productivity up to 42.3sqm an hour, in its Australian debut at the DES stand, B16. DES will also show the Seiko M64S, Roland XR PRO4 Print’n’Cut, EFI H652 UV and Epson SC30600. OKI Data Australia will introduce the C941, a digital A3 colour printer with white and clear gloss capabilities, and bring its C711WT printer which it says delivers fast, high quality printing with the added benefit of white. Epson will run demonstrations on its new SureColor SC-F2000 direct-to-garment (DTG) printer and 64-inch wide SureColor SC-F7100 dye sublimation printer for customised printed fabric and merchandise, including clothing, soft signage and gifts. It will also set up its SureColor S50600, suited to printing durable graphics for indoor and outdoor applications, and its T7200 economical poster printer. This is the first time products with Epson’s PrecisionCore Micro TFP print chip will be on display at the show. Spicers will print with the Mimaki JV300 and JV400LX, laminate with the Kala Mistral 1650, cut with the Fotoba XLD 170 and mount with the Rollsroller Flatbed Applicator. It will also feature the giant EFI Vutek GS3250LX, complete with MEGS (Material Edge Guides).

Graphic Art Mart will run hands-on vehicle wrapping seminars and show a range of products from Avery Dennison, Arlon, Aslan, Sihl, Chemica, Knifeless Tape, Soudal, Foliatec, Roland DG and Mutoh. International reps from Drytac, Aristo and Kala are onboard for the Celmac stand, which offers HP Latex and DesignJet printers, HP Scitex flatbeds, Aristo cutting tables, Kala laminators, Contex large format scanners, Summa cutters, Rainbow roller and display systems, Bobis applicators, Canon imagePrograf printers, RIP software from ColorGate, Onyx and Caldera and Drytac laminating films. Lamination System will launch its new range of Sign Master Equipment including flat bed applicators, textile fixation units and thermal transfer machines, having expanded its offering to cater for the fast developing trade. Trotec says it will bring its largest ever display for the show, showing off its Speedy 400 laser machine and consumables. Optimus will take printers through its dash MIS, which caters for all methods of digital, litho, screen and specialist print production. Its Optimus Cloud Web2Print and Cloud Mobile will also be on show. Impression Technology will launch Mutoh wide format textile printers, using sublimation/reactive and pigmented inks. The Kornit Storm II environmentally friendly garment printer, available through Kiwo Australia, will be on display at stand G6. Anitech will run demos of is Seiko ColorPainter M64s, a low odour eco-solvent printer, alongside its HAPs Free ColorPainter W64s, heavy duty Vivid Laminator EM-1600H and grit rolling Graphtec Cutter FC86000-160. In the seminar room, John Hadfield will unwrap sign quoting strategies and how to improve your business in tough times. Darcy Mauro from Sawgrass will talk making money with sublimation, and Stahls’ Pacific will explore getting the most out of your heat press with digital print.
