Cooney was a lifetime honourary member of the JPE and Printing Industries Association, forging his reputation as founder and director of Homebush-based W.A. Cooney Commercial Printers. He established the business with his home-garage Letterpress in the 1960s, turning the company into a successful commercial offset printing business before retiring in 1992.
Cooney died just prior to last week’s PacPrint event, with his grand-daughter Melissa Hardcastle continuing his legacy with her work as sales and marketing manager for GXpress.
