Xeikon opening down under

Digital print systems developer Xeikon is creating its own sales, service and support operation in Australia and New Zealand, which will be launching next month.

The decision was made after the acquisition of Xeikon by Flint Group following a review of collaborations between the companies. It fits Flint’s strategy of direct to market. Xeikon will cease its collaboration with current dealer Absolute Electronics.

Trevor Crowley sales general manager for Xeikon says the company wanted to do things differently. “We have all the infrastructure with Flint Group, and we want more sales in the region,” he says.

Crowley says this is going to benefit all Australian printers. “Printers will be dealing directly with the factory. We are going to transition the business, and we have factory trained technicians and service staff already appointed. We are not going through an agency so we can deal directly with the factory. Local customers will get swifter support for technical support and enquiries,” he says.

Bent Serritslev managing director of Asia Pacific says, “After assessing the opportunities for both companies we have decided the time is right to establish a direct sales and service organization in Australia and New Zealand. It will handle the full range of Xeikon digital presses and solutions for labels, folding cartons and commercial printing.”

Xeikon was one of the original digital print developers, and has multiple machines installed here.
