Young Aussie of Year to speak to WIP

The Young Australian of the Year 2012 Marita Cheng will be the guest speaker at the Women in Print breakfasts, to be held in major cities across Australia from March 17 to 25.

Cheng is the founder of Robogals Global which encourages women to become engineers, and 2Mar Robotics, the winner of the Innovation Excellence Award at the 2013 Tech23 Awards. Cheng has also won some 22 other national and international awards.

She won the Young Australian of the Year for demonstrating vision and leadership beyond her years and at the women-only breakfast she will share her secrets of how to set goals and dream big.

The Heidelberg Women in Print, in its ninth year, provides women in the print media industry with the opportunity to network and hear from inspiring women who are leaders in their field.

Women in Print coordinator Inge Pullar says Cheng is known for her entrepreneurial skills as well as her passion for encouraging young women to explore careers in fields traditionally dominated by men.

“The print industry by nature is a very male dominated industry and women need to work with each other and support each other,” she says.

Tickets for the breakfast costs $65 per person. The event calendar is as follows:

Novotel Glen Waverley in Melbourne on March 17.

Establishment Ballroom in Sydney on March 18.

Emporium in Brisbane on March 19.

Hyatt Regency in Perth on March 24.

Martini Ristorante in Adelaide on March 25.
