Young printers promoting industry to peers

Some of print’s future leaders have shared their hopes, dreams, and vision for the industry in a bid to inspire young people to take up a print career.

The video series interviews finalists of 2015 Media Super Young Executive Award, which was won by Webstar supply chain manager Sean Thompson.

PIAA national communications director Joe Kowalewski says the videos show high-quality young print staff talking about their positive experiences, and gives insight into how their generation sees the industry.

“Turn back the clock and no one wanted to be part of the printing industry. They thought that they would be a dark basement covered with black ink,” he says.

“But that has changed. The print industry today offers young people a career path that can take them in any direction they want. They can be in sales, marketing, digital technology, graphic design, and a range of other paths.”
