APPMA awards entries closing soon

Entries for the Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Association (APPMA) Awards of Excellence are closing on January 26, with the organisers encouraging printers and converters to submit their work before then.

The Awards are open to APPMA members and exhibitors at Auspack 2019, with entries to be submitted via the official online portal.

Mark Dingley, chairman, APPMA, says, “Judging begins on January 28, with the finalists announced on February 20. Winners will be announced at the Gala Awards Ceremony on March 27.

“There are only 450 tickets available for the Gala Awards Ceremony and these are already over half sold. It’s fantastic to see people so keen to share in this night of networking, and celebrating innovation and our industry in general.”

Entertainment on the gala night will be provided by multi-skilled performer Peter Rowsthorn as MC, with music from the elegant, soulful group Lil Miss Jazz playing original compositions, jazz and acoustic versions of popular tunes. The three-course menu is designed to reduce food waste, with food sourced from online marketplace Yume, which rescues surplus top-quality-label food from being thrown away.

Dingley says, “Auspack is only three months away, so I encourage people to get in quickly and secure their tickets for the Gala Awards Ceremony. I also strongly encourage exhibitors and APPMA members to get their Award submissions in before January 26, 2019. You can enter as many of the five categories as you like. Aside from winning and being a finalist, there are so many benefits to entering these national awards.”
