Atlas slitter rewinders, particularly the large primary film slitters installed with stenter lines, have enjoyed a great reception in China throughout the last decade. Atlas claims that sales in the current boom in China are proving that it is winning the great majority of orders, in spite of growing competition.
Atlas says it maintained a two to one superiority in 2002 compared with the next biggest supplier, taking a 60 per cent share of the business overall.
Atlas says an outstanding feature of sales in 2002 has been the customer loyalty which characterises Atlas sales in other markets around the world. More than 10 large film slitters were ordered in 2002 from existing Atlas customers in China alone.
Atlas has maintained its policy of continuous product development as well as establishing a substantially improved customer service and support facility to improve customer care. The recently established 24/7 Technical Support Service together with a worldwide network of Service Centres and Service Points, has received an exceptional welcome by customers.
“This investment will further differentiate Atlas from our competitors and continue to strengthen our position as the world’s leading supplier of primary and secondary slitter rewinders,” explains Atlas Slitter Rewinders VP Kevin Windo.
“Valmet Converting now has more than 300 machines installed in China, to which will be added another 20 Atlas slitter rewinders alone in 2003,” confirmed Valmet Converting regional manager in China, Lubin Lu.
