BJ Ball adds Hostmann-Steinberg inks

BJ Ball has added major consumable supplier Hostmann-Steinberg to its range, and will bolster its customer and technical support teams to underpin the new deal.

The merchant says it will start distributing the 250-year-old supplier’s inks and consumables from July 1, in an effort to broaden its offering and become the ‘vendor of choice’ for Australian printers.

The inks will be supplied under BJ Ball’s iConsignment, which essentially means that BJ Ball stocks a printer with the inks, then restocks as the printer uses the inks. The printer only pays as he uses the inks. It has been a successful strategy in digital paper for BJ Ball.

BJ Ball and Hostmann-Steinberg parent company Huber Group say they will strengthen their sales and technical teams and have invested in equipment which utilises the latest technology in colour management, ink dispensing, and mixing.

BJ Ball graphics general manager Sam Varughese says: “Our alliance with Hostmann-Steinberg allows us to offer our customers the widest and most comprehensive choice of high quality products.”

Hostmann-Steinberg general manager Ray Toal says the alliance will enable the supplier to set a new benchmark in the delivery of products and services to its customers

“BJ Ball shares our philosophy on quality and service delivery and are committed to providing new and innovative solutions to the printing industry,” he says.

The deal extends through the Eastern and Southern states.

BJ Ball chief executive Craig Brown says both companies are committed to the market for the long term.
