Bremy

What is it and what does it do?
Hague’s Bremy system is a digital asset repository. When the assets are uploaded we can manipulate them and use them as we want. For example, one of the main features we currently use is the built in online order system. We use the assets, which in this case are artwork files of our clients print work, for an online order function, with the ability to also order variable templated items such as business cards and letterheads. There are other modules of the system that we use to perform online proof and approval of new designs for our clients and also to automate the production of catalogue artwork.

Why did you choose this particular system?

We chose the Bremy because it did everything we wanted and a lot more for a realistic price. In addition, the Bremy system is provided as a hosted solution so we didn’t need to invest in additional infrastructure and software support. We simply access the system using a browser and an internet connection. It has turned out to be a lot more advanced and intelligent than we realised at first.

What features do you particularly like?
The automated database publishing element is extremely clever and eliminates a lot of boring repetitive work, and saves us time and money. We use it to automate the production of some large catalogue artwork for one of our clients in particular. What would before have taken weeks of manual work to complete is now done in a few days.

Is there anything else that you wish it had?

Yes, but as Bremy write the software themselves most things that we require can be built into the system, so as and when problems or issues arise they can be swiftly remedied.

How reliable is it?
It is quite reliable. We haven’t had any major problems since we deployed the solution a year ago. We have had some minor glitches as a result of the customisations we had done for us but these were swiftly dealt with by Bremy.

What’s the quality like?
The quality is pretty good. The Bremy system works happily with high resolution artworks and images and reproduces colour accurate artwork from the various production modules that we use.

How easy is it to use?
Most people with a basic grasp of IT and the internet can get to grips with it very quickly. We have users ranging from our own sales staff to office administrators within our client organisations. We are able to configure the complexity of the user interface on a user by user basis which makes it extremely flexible.

How much time or money has it saved?
By adopting the Bremy system we have made considerable time and cost savings.

Has it won you any new work?
Our sales team now have additional services, which they can offer to our clients such as online proofing and approval, image library functionality and online ordering. As a result of the database publishing module we have managed to secure a number of deals for catalogue work which we wouldn’t have otherwise won.

Who do you think the machine is right for?
The Bremy system is right for companies in a similar situation to ourselves. Firms looking for faster turnaround times, additional functionality like online proof and approvals, and competitive pricing for the work they do.
