Briner Signs triples output with swissQprint Kudu UV LED upgrade

Victoria-based signage and printing solutions provider Briner Signs has tripled its capacity for output following the installation of a new swissQprint Kudu UV LED flatbed printer.

Supplier the swissQprint machines in Australia, Pozitive Sign & Graphic Supplies, managed the delivery and install.

The printer, the second of its kind in Victoria and one of four currently in Australia, has been operational since mid-October and has already had a measurable impact on Briner’s capacity to produce its broad product range en masse.

Briner’s new printer allows for printing up to 304 square metres per hour, a marked improvement from its previous machine which reached a max of 50 square metres per hour.

It features 10 colour channels, 3.2m by 2m print area, 30 print heads and 1350 DPI maximum resolution. Additionally, Briner now has capacity to create vibrant signage utilising neon inks, previously unavailable to clients.

Briner managing director Con Tsakonas said the new technology won’t see additional costs passed on to clients, but rather, greater efficiency regarding delivery and installation time.

“We’ve been really impressed by the output of product we’re now able to achieve for our clients, which is an enormous benefit,” he said.

“Our clients are predominantly in real estate, from high-end to master planned estates, so the requirement to fulfill their needs varies quite a bit. We’re able to well and truly stick to schedule and increase our capacity at the same time – that’s where the value is for us and our clients.”

Briner’s new printer will also fast track the launch and distribution of an entirely new product offering set to provide a solution for ‘one and done’ signage.

“We’re just about to launch a new product, a 600mm by 450mm A-frame which was designed to allow for foam board inserts eliminating the ‘stripping’ process and removing double handling. The client will be able to change the message on the A-frame without needing to return it to Briner and can have multiple designs for single A-frame,” Tsakonas said.

“The new printer is going to allow us to produce these inserts at incredibly high volumes, so we’re excited to see how that’s received by the real estate industry in particular.”

Pozitive Sign & Graphic Supplies managing director Phil Trumble said the company was pleased to have worked with Briner and anticipates other companies to follow suit in adopting new technologies.

“It’s exciting to see Briner take this step forward. The Kudu offers a combination of speed, versatility, and precision that will allow Briner to meet increasing demand while elevating the quality of its output,” Trumble said.

“One of the key advantages of the Kudu is the reliability it offers compared to other machines. With higher speeds, greater print quality, and dependable performance, Briner now has the confidence to handle larger jobs without compromising deadlines or consistency.

“At Pozitive, we aim to provide tailored technology solutions that align with our customers’ goals. Supporting Briner with the Kudu installation reflects our shared focus on long-term growth and delivering exceptional service.”
