LIA New South Wales is extending a warm invitation to everyone in print to join the committee for a tour of Carbon8’s multi-service print and binding facility in Marrickville on 24 September.
During the tour, attendees will see the unique printing capabilities of the champion in craft, andlearn how the company won five gold and two silver medals, including gold for Digital Printer of the Year, at the 39th annual National Print Awards.
“With 15 years’ of industry experience, Carbon8 has created a name for itself as one of the most innovative and awarded Australian printing companies. Emerging in Surry Hills, Sydney, just prior to the global financial crisis of 2008 and being predominately a digital print-house, we have grown in both scale and capability, now calling the inner west Sydney suburb of Marrickville home,” Carbon8 director Kenneth Beck-Pedersen said.
Under the one solar panel-filled roof and drawing 100 per cent renewable energy from the grid, Carbon8 runs the recently upgraded HP Indigo 15K HD B2 press as its flagship sheet-fed press.
“With just about every finishing and binding solution in-house, we are a truly unique printing company that utilises the best digital print equipment, both sheet-fed and roll-fed that uses inkjet or toner-based technologies, combined with traditional embellishment and binding techniques to deliver almost anything a client could require,” Beck-Pedersen added.
Along with its main workhorse, the HP Indigo 15K HD, other machines and processes that will be on display during the plant tour include: the HP Indigo 7900; celloglazing and digital foiling; saddle stitching, section-sewing, PUR, and oversewing; the Harris & Bruno anilox coater (UV and Aqueous); the SwissQprint LED UV flatbed inkjet; the Epson solvent and aqueous inkjet; the HP Latex inkjet; the Zünd cutting table, case-making; and laser cutting.
The tour will commence at 3.45pm sharp, and will be followed by dinner at the Marrickville Bowling Club, featuring speeches by Beck-Pedersen and Carbon8 director Peter Musarra.
Tickets cost $40 per head for dinner, with drinks available at a cash bar.
