Director Identification Number needed by November 30

Company directors need to have applied for their unique 15-digit Director Identification Number by November 30, 2022.

Director Identification Numbers are administered by the Australian Business Registry Services (ABRS), which is managed by the Australian Tax Office (ATO).

The fastest way to apply for a Director Identification Number is online with Australian Business Registry Services (ABRS). Click here for more info. There is also this video provided by the ATO to help explain the process.

A Director Identification Number is a unique identifier that a company director will keep forever. ABRS says it will help to prevent the use of false or fraudulent director identities.

See this helpful “Who Needs to Apply and When” guide from ABRS for further info.
