DPA turns to EFI for further growth

EFI Logic SQL is a fully automated production management system, combining real-time data collection with plant-wide production and business tools, uniting the front office and the production floor.

According to Claude Lucchesi, DPA director, Logic SQL will support DPA’s vision of being the total solutions provider for managing information on paper and beyond.

“The business has turned the traditional print paradigm on its head, trading not in ink but information, changing volume to print value, and just in case to just in time. DPA is not a print provider but a print consultant,” says Lucchesi.

“We wanted to have our customers connecting more efficiently with our business, via an Internet interface, as well as having better control of our manufacturing process. EFI Logic was the best MIS option we evaluated that integrated everything from both a client and an operating point of view.”

EFI says its Logic tools handle every step of the workflow: estimating, order entry, scheduling, job ticket, purchasing and inventory control, job tracking, shipping and billing. For DPA, Logic’s provision of integration, data collection and support was what made it a winning candidate.

Using EFI’s internet interface, DPA’s customers will also be able to manage their print requirements online in the near future. Through the DPA website, customers will be able to orchestrate everything from quoting, design, preproduction and printing to delivery. The interface ties in directly to the Logic management system, enabling DPA to better integrate its internal processes to drive down costs and time.

Lucchesi says, “We already have a better understanding of the business, with tighter reproting on what is profitable and what is not. Stock, inventory and scheduling will soon be coming online and that will increase efficiency again.

“We are confident the full end-to-end integration and automation achievable through the use of EFI’s Logic technology will be substantially beneficial to our customers.”
