Exhibitor Q&A: Ross Gilberthorpe

What does your firm do?

Equipment servicing and sales.

Where are you based?

Melbourne.

How many of you are here?

Three.

What are you showing?

The iCTP Platewriter 2000 CTP
systems and LasermaxRoll finishing systems.

What are your hopes?

We hope to see about a dozen people that look set to lock in iCTP installs. LasermaxRoll is more about introducing it to the Australian market.

How many PacPrints have you been to?

This is my eighth.

What is your top tip?

Be focused on what you want to see. Don’t wander aimlessly. People should make appointments where possible.

What’s your trick for getting prospects interested?

You’ve got to be interesting, you’ve got to be honest and you’ve got to listen to what the customer wants. There’s quite an art to selling at shows. You’ve got to have eyes in the back of your head.

What’s your best trade show experience?

When you get lot of good qualified people through the door and it’s busy, that’s the best experience you can have because you know everyone’s having success. The best sort of memories are anything from selling your first piece of equipment to selling your last. If we can all get lots of sales and good prospects, it’s a good show.
