Fire destroys Printech Reprographics factory

The factory was well alight when firefighters arrived on the scene around midnght according to the Country Fire Authority (CFA). “The flames were 60m in the air above the roof,” says a CFA spokesperson.

Some 40 firefighters too and hour and a half to extinguish the blaze, with CFA crews succeeding in preventing the blaze from spreading to neighbouring properties.

CFA communications officer, Peter Boicovitis, says the intensity and heat of the fire made it difficult to fight. Police menwhile are investigating the cause of the fire which is understood to be ’suspicious’.

According to the CFA, the fire caused damage to the value of $1.5m.
