GAMAA internship grant open

The closing date for applications to the 2014 Graphic Arts Merchants Association of Australia Industry Overseas Internship Grant has been extended until March 31.

The $15,000 grant allows one young printer to undertake an internship or research project with companies of their choosing anywhere in the world.

Those interested can apply for internships and research projects in marketing, new media, print, graphic design and other nominated disciplines related to the print media field.

The grant winner will also write a research paper documenting their experience and how what they learned can be applied to the Australian market.

Last year’s winner Arin Tahmasian, an Account Executive at Upstream Print Solutions Sydney, used his grant on 24-day tour of the US and UK to visit key sites and events.

GAMAA executive director Karen Goldsmith says the association is committed to promoting leadership through further education.

“The grant enables the successful applicant to discover world’s best practices and to tap into trends that are happening in our industry outside of Australia,” she says.

“It is the gathering of knowledge from multiple sources that will fuel the sustainability of our industry.”

Further information and applications forms are available from GAMAA’s website.
