Good year for Printing Industries

The Printing Industries’ AGM heard that the organisation grew its membership base by 60 per cent last year, and is set to consolidate that strength this year.

Printing Industries’ chief executive Joan Grace says that the growing membership base is central to the organisation’s continued development. Printing Industries has brought additional field staff to its organisation and is continually improving its services.

“While we aim to continue increasing the number of members,” Grace says, “we are concentrating on makings sure our members get real value from their membership.

The seminars conducted by Printing Industries to bring members up to speed on what the Holidays Act means to print businesses was a prime example, Grace says. It attracted hundreds of people across the country and delivered a valuable service.

Another example is the ‘Challenge of Change’ industry conference to be held in October and featuring a stellar lineup of speakers, including All Black coach Graham Henry.

One of the messages that Printing Industries will be pushing this year is the idea of print as an infrastructure industry. With free trade deals on the horizon in Asia, print needs to be providing its services to all New Zealand businesses exporting overseas, ‘clipping the ticket’ on each product that goes past.
