Graphitype auction ends tomorrow

The Graphitype online equipment auction is now live, and ends tomorrow at 5pm. Ascent Partners business sale and acquisition agent Richard Rasmussen says it has more than 60 bids on various lots.

“I think that is testament to the level of demand for the lots, the majority is good quality, in demand digital and offset related equipment” he says.

Rasmussen says a number of Heidelberg pieces have been popular during the auction.

“You can see that on the number of bids to date for each lot, but the larger machines like the Heidelberg CD 74 (lot 12) and Horizon Folder (lot 6) Horizon Collator, stitcher, trimmer (lot 17) and Heidelberg GTOZ (lot 24), we know we have a good level of interest in those,” he says.

Rasmussen is hopeful that there will be no items left over but he is realistic about it, he says, “It is nearly a complete offset and digital facility, but some, mainly smaller items, may not have a lot of demand.”

The equipment line-up features an automated 2004 Heidelberg six colour CD Speedmaster, a late model Heidelberg CTP, a Horizon automated folder, Polar guillotine and Horizon collator, stitcher trimmer.

Also included in the sale is a red pallet lifter, Epson proofer Stylus Pro 7900, Konica Minolta bizhub c6501 digital colour press, and a Mazda ute.

Rasmussen says if pieces are not sold they will either sell it privately or sell to dealers.

Graphitype owners Dave and Kath Morris sold the business to Kelvin Gage’s Dominion Print at the start of the year. They had already sold the packaging side of the business several years ago.
