Focus Press considers itself as an industry leader in the clean print production area, and says that the organisations that have signed the contracts have a proven track record of environmental concern.
David Fuller, Focus Press managing director, says that the company’s decision to develop and implement processes and practices which are environmentally friendly, are paying off for his company and the environment too.
“As organisations realise that Focus Press offers a printing alternative which is cost effective and 100 per cent environmentally safe, they are giving us their business. In the first quarter of 2004, we have secured business in excess of $5m, which will all be produced using the latest environmentally friendly technology, with zero toxic waste,” Fuller says.
“There is a real misconception in the market place, when it comes to printing, that being environmentally friendly is expensive. This is a fallacy. All print production at Focus Press is environmentally friendly and most of it costs the same or less to produce as traditional print methods.
“Another myth is that environmentally friendly printing compromises the quality of the work. The fact that Focus Press have secured several multi-million dollar deals with a number of Australia’s major image-conscious businesses, confirms quality printing and the environment can function harmoniously.”
Fuller insists his company’s initiatives are not expensive and could be implemented by any printer, a worthwhile task considering the growing demand for manufacturing processes that take environmental concerns into consideration.
“It might take a while but eventually, all printers will realise there is a very real financial value to their business and a huge ecological benefit in being environmentally aware and utilising the processes that we use at Focus Press every day,” Fuller says.
