The Hannanprint founded facility in Noble Park, Victoria, has been closed, as the newly merged entity of PMP and IPMG seeks to become more competitive and sustainable.

100 employees at the facility will be made redundant, with the company looking to find them work in other facilities in the state.

Peter George, managing director, PMP Limited says, “While the closure will result in 100 redundancies, we are working to ensure a number of our Noble Park staff can be redeployed to our Clayton site in Melbourne.

“We have made all attempts to ensure that those leaving the business are doing so with the best possible level of support and assistance available to them, and we have made agreements with the individuals transferring across to the Clayton facility to ensure there are no adverse effects of this change in employment.

“We have been working constructively with the AMWU throughout the process and they have provided input to our plans” says George.

“PMP has shown in the past its determination and capability to successfully integrate businesses and major contracts within our ongoing business, and this has had positive outcomes for our customers and our shareholders.

“We are pleased with the progress made since the merger including the transformation of our NSW and QLD operations, which are under discussion internally and with the AMWU and our employees.

“We will be able to confirm the outcomes in these areas through April and May.”

Australian Printer contacted the AMWU for comment on the closure, but did not receive a response prior to publication.

Hannanprint says its Noble Park facilities were opened in 1991 as the most modern in the state, with foundation clients including Royal Auto, Melbourne Age, Good Weekend magazine and BRW.
