Immij acquires veteran printer Burtons

Digital printer Immij has revealed plans to acquire veteran printer Burtons Print and Packaging next month in a move to strengthen its position in the market.

Immij will complete the acquisition in July, with Burtons slated to relocate from its Sefton premises to settle into Immij’s Lane Cove site, where it will trade as Immij Burtons.

The multi-state company will keep Burtons managing director David Hawkes and production manager Gary McKewin on board, as well as a number of key staff.

Immij chief executive Scott Hillberg says the company will maintain Burton’s longstanding personal service and client relationships following the acquisition.

“Customer service, quality and innovation are part of the DNA at Burtons, and we intend to extend this to the Burtons clients,” says Hillberg.

Burtons Print and Packaging has been in business for 68 years and produces packaging and commercial printing to corporate, retail and packaging entities.

Immij Group was formerly owned by Penfold Buscombe management and operates with some 150 staff in both Sydney and Melbourne.

Established in 2008, the printer offers pre-press, offset, UV and digital printing, finishing, direct mail and print management services across Australia and New Zealand.
