Jackie Connor returns to her roots as Digitalpress GM

She spent five years at ACP where her role was to manage the print service team that quoted and placed all ancillary print for the publisher’s magazines.

Earlier this year she completing a three month contract with Integral Energy as the strategic category manager – print, and agreed to a short term project management role with Theo Pettaras, owner of Digitalpress, which led to the permanent position.

Connor told Australian Printer she will offer a strong contribution to the Digitalpress team with her estimating and operational knowledge of the industry, obtained through her co-owned sheet fed printing company, and experience on “both sides of the fence” in sales and procurement.

She says, “My philosophy regarding business management, passion for print and innovation is in alignment with Theo’s and our skill set complements each other. The transparency of the business, collaborative approach to staff involvement as well as our client retention and service levels, is also in sync.”

As general manager, the main aspect of Connor’s role will be analysing current processes and systems, and implementing the required changes that will enable Digitalpress to expand into its next growth phase.

She says, “I will also be negotiating with suppliers regarding current pricing and contracts, and strategically sourcing new opportunities that are in alignment with the company’s innovative marketing edge.”

Outlining her plans for the future, she says Digitalpress will continue to contribute in educating the print and creative community with an underlying aim to double the business within two years.

She says, “The business will continue to be the benchmark for the industry as far as innovation is concerned, and to maintain its current lead as Australia’s most accredited award winning digital printer.”
