All-rounded printer and pre-press technician at Frontline Print Jervis Tsui has been named as the Heidelberg/ Lithographic institute of Australia (LIA) NSW Graduate of the Year for 2023.

This follows Angus McGrath, a graduate printer from Note Printing Australia, named winner of this year’s LIA Victoria Heidelberg Graduate of the Year and Studio Labels’ Christine Gardiner winning the LIA SA 2023 Graduate of the Year award.

Tsui will progress to the LIA National Awards to be held during Visual Impact in May, where the winner will receive a $15,000 scholarship to further their career.

The NSW Graduate of the Year for 2023 award was presented to Tsui at the Frontline office by the LIA and Heidelberg, who also presented the Frontline Print’s business manager Yash DeGamia with the Employers Award.

“Tsui said he was honoured to be awarded as the NSW graduate of the year for 2023 and receive the Heidelberg/LIA award. He is looking forward to attending and competing for LIA national awards at Visual Impact in May,” Heidelberg/LIA NSW Graduate Committee member Peter Munro said.

“Frontline Print business manager Yash DeGamia thanked Heidelberg’s Michael Collins for the employer’s award. Our thanks also go to the team at Heidelberg for their ongoing support, including Savas Mystakidis, Julie Sarro and Michal Collins for presenting the award.”

LIA Australia is also inviting the industry to attend the LIA National Awards presentations, on 4 May, at Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park.

“It’s time to celebrate excellence in our industry by recognising our brightest industry graduates. Congratulate this year’s finalists and winners and celebrate the future of our industry over drinks and canapés at the LIA National Awards presentations,” Böttcher Australia managing director Mitch Mulligan said.

Those interested can attend the Visual Impact show in Sydney before moving on to the seminar area from 6pm – 7pm for canapés and beverages before the awards presentations.
