KAMA teams up with Heidelberg in Australia

The Dresden-based company’s range of finishing cutters and folder-gluers, including the ProCut 74 offering (pictured), could be made available to the Sydney and Melbourne markets as early as next month.

KAMA managing director Marcus Tralau said he was keen to expand the company’s presence in the relatively strong Asia-Pacific market after a successful entry into the Japanese market last year.

The company is already reporting “keen interest” in its die-cutters in the local market.

“Many printers in the Australasian region see the expansion of their post-press and finishing activities as a chance to use high-end services to increase in-house added value, enhance their profile, and stabilise their market position,” Tralau said.

HAN managing director Andy Vels Jensen said the range of KAMA finishing products “fit perfectly” into his company’s sales portfolio.

The agreement ties in with Heidelberg’s announcement last week that it will become the exclusive distributor of Kodak consumables, workflow software, and CTP equipment in the commercial sheetfed market from 2010.
