Kawana Signs in confusing voluntary administration

Sunshine Coast based Kawana Signs has entered voluntary administration after 50 years of operation, but there could be more to the story.

An ASIC notification confirmed that Kawana Signs entered voluntary administration on 21 August with Stephen Earel and Darryl Kirk appointed as administrators.

When contacted by Sprinter, a representative from Kawana Signs was asked if the company was currently in voluntary administration and the response was “the old company is” before declining to comment further and ending the call.

Carmen Lu from Cor Cordis was contacted for further information about the voluntary administration and failed to respond to questions from Sprinter.

Kawana Signs specialises in large format printing, retail point of sale, brand consultation, branded rollouts, corporate identity, directional and wayfinding signage, environmental graphics, fabricated 3D LED illuminated letters and logos and sustainable signage.

The company has completed work for Domino’s, Chanel, T.K.Maxx, Samsung, David Jones, Calvin Klein, Cellarmasters, Tesla, Diageo and EY.
