National Production Printing group manager David Procter told ProPrint that the new site (pictured) – which will be flagged as Konica Minolta House under naming rights from the developer – was a significant development for the company, by providing the facilities to showcase the company’s entire range of production and office printers, including the Kodak NexPress, which Konica Minolta recently took on through a distribution agreement with Kodak at PacPrint 09.
“We will have well over 4,000 square metres of space here, over three floors,” he said. “The ground floor will include a large showroom area for office equipment, and an even larger showroom space for production printing machines, including the NexPress. The showrooms will be able to demonstrate all the machines to customers, including the NexPress, and Kodak will be able to bring their customers here to use the showroom as well.
“The remainder of that floor will be a technical resource centre which will have every printer that we sell set up and used as test machines for service and maintenance. We’ll also have another two floors of space for sales and administration. This will be our national head office.”
“We are growing rapidly, and are presently hiring new staff in sales and marketing,” Procter added. “We’ve had excellent sales in the last few months, and expect that to continue.”
He claimed that his optimism was due to a positive approach to current circumstances by managing director Hiro Kaji, which was underlined by continually strong sales since Pacprint 09.
