Next Printing’s decision to going green is a first step towards certification requirements for the International Environmental Standard ISO 14001.
Romeo Sanuri, general manager, Next Printing told Australian Printer, “This is another milestone for Next Printing, as we are not just focusing on our technology, but also focusing on the environment.”
Vincent Liew, project manager and business analyst, Next Printing told Australian Printer, “The program helps us to identify the environmental laws that apply to us. This is important so that the organisation and employee stay in close tune with all the local, State and Federal government environment initiatives.”
Liew says, “With Truly Green under our belt, the organisation will embark on a journey of continuous improvement in identifying ways in which we affect the environment, and taking deliberate steps to control the reduction of environmental effect of our operations.”
Next has produced an Environmental Policy that sets out the issues the company is tackling. As part of its move to ISO 14001, Next has provided training to all of its staff whose work can affect the environment.
Liew says, “We have set environmental objectives and targets that will be regularly reviewed and progress towards achieving them will be monitored.”
The journey towards ISO 14001 certification requires participation by all who work on site including contractors and visitors.
