A crowd of Next’s customers and industry representatives attended an open house event at the printer’s St Peters facility last week to see the 500sqm per hour printer in action.
Romeo Sanuri, general manager of Next says, “We have always been committed to employing the latest technology as a point of differentiation in the marketplace. This company has always been focused on turnaround time and the speed of the FB7500 will enable us to be much more productive.”
According to HP the new Scitex is ideal for fast-paced, industrial printing environments, and is designed for high-quality POP/POS applications, exhibition graphics, signage, backlit displays and posters.
Also commenting on the night, Tom Tjanaria, managing director of Next told visitors, “Business is just like a game and to win, a tennis player needs skill but he also needs a good racquet. The Scitex will enable us to penetrate the Screen printing industry.”
Martin Carballo, director of Scitex graphic solutions business for HP Asia Pacific says HP is shifting its focus to the opportunities arising from the printers making the transition from analogue to digital.
He says, “We are trying to make digital technology affordable and this machine is a starting point for that strategy.”
Asia Pacific’s first Scitex FB7500 was installed by Melbourne-based printer Magnify Media in November last year.
