NSW Budget gives $2000 for hiring new staff

Small printers in NSW will benefit from bonuses to encourage new jobs announced in last night’s state budget and more funding for support services.

Small businesses with total wage costs of less than $750,000 and therefore do not pay payroll tax will be given $2000 for each new hire they make if the employee stays in the role at least a year.

The incentive, costing $27m over the next four years, will provide some small relief to the many small printers in Australia’s biggest state that are thinking of taking on more staff.

Small businesses will also benefit from $14m in business support measures including the Small Biz Connect program, small business advocacy services, and dispute resolution services.

It also includes continued support of specialist advisors with language skills to multicultural small businesses in Western Sydney

The NSW Government moves follows the small business 1.5 per cent tax cut and $20,000 asset depreciation tax writeoffs in last month’s Federal Budget.
