Oki launches demonstration centre

Oki Data Australia unveiled its new, enlarged print solutions product demonstration centre, set up at its Australian headquarters in Macquarie Park, Sydney.

The demonstration centre was launched by Alex Kawamura, managing director, Oki Data Australia and New Zealand and doubles the size of the previous facility, launched six years ago.

Antonio Leone, ANZ marketing manager, Oki Data says, “Compared to our previous centre, we not only have our full range of Pro series graphic arts printers on display, we also have our high-end multifunction copier, our TerioStar multifunction mono, wide format and two ColorPainter wide format printer models in display.

“The centre enables us to organise demonstrations more efficiently as well as being able to leverage key personnel within the OKI team as required.  We also hold reserves of media and consumables to accommodate end-user print sample requirements. It also allows the demonstration of products to be an accompaniment or element of other channel and end user engagement activity including introductions to OKI, dealer briefings and training.

“OKI hold several key advantages.  With our wide format products we offer Dynamic Dot Printing (DDP) technology, which optimises dot size and density for consistently high quality even at high speeds.

“Smart Pass 4 (SP4) technology dot control algorithm control delivers superior image quality for skin tones, grey shadows and smooth gradients in pastel shades. Industrial high-frequency greyscale print heads deliver precise constant drop control.

“Newly-developed SX ink designed for high quality print results – with 3+ years high outdoor durability without lamination including high indoor print quality

“For our Pro Series of graphic arts printers, we were the first to introduce white-toner and neon toner desktop printers for increased application versatility,as well as the world's first 5-spot colour A3 printer (CMYK + white or clear).

“Over and above this is our LED printing technology which OKI pioneered over 20 years ago.  With fewer moving parts, LED offers a straight paper path with superior media flexibility and fewer paper jams, superior print quality, as well as increased reliability and efficiency.

“We have grown consistently each year since establishing a direct presence in Australia. Many factors have contributed, including a strong channel partner program and strategy, a competitive product set, comprehensive and multi-channel marketing activities, augmenting our business & office printer offering with graphic arts and wide format solutions.”

Alex Kawamura, managing director for Oki Data Australia and New Zealand, says, “This investment marks a further chapter in our ongoing commitment to our Australian channel partners and customers.  The new demonstration facility will enable us to provide world-class demonstration facilities while fostering stronger, more dynamic and mutually beneficial relationships with channel partners and end users.  Seeing our products run in our live operating environment will be a powerful education tool.”

Oki says the centre reiterates its commitment to innovation, channel partners and customer experience, and is fully integrated within the company’s newly refurbished Australia head office, reflecting best practices for continuous innovation and learning.

It features the range of OKI’s LED-enabled products which provide significant benefits to users, including longer product life, fewer operational issues, increased reliability and better image quality over the entire life of the print engine.  The full range of OKI Pro Series products with white, clear and neon colour capabilities are also on display and ready to showcase their creative versatility.

A key addition to the facility includes a dedicated space for the ColorPainter series of wide format inkjet printers, allowing for the production of print samples across an extensive range of indoor and outdoor media, whilst demonstrating the outstanding colour reproduction and print quality of the ColorPainter range.

The facility will also continue to serve as a centre of excellence for OKI to train and demonstrate product to resellers as well as customers.  OKI Data Australia has over 100 authorised channel partners in Australia providing sales and support capabilities.

Customers with specific print requirements will also be able to visit the centre prior to physical purchase, and test a recommended OKI product on everything from a basic printing demand through to a tailored, specific requirement.

The Oki Data Australia demonstration centre is located at Level 1, 67 Epping Road, Macquarie Park, Sydney.
