Other panel members include: Julia Van Der Sommen – Director, Pattern Room; Joe Aliano – Managing Director, Mereton Textiles; Grant Waddell – Director, The Print Shop; Kerrin Schuppan – Former Head of Menswear, Country Road. Designer/ Founder – Kerrin.

Pattern Room CFO Daniel Watt says the discussion will examine the challenges and opportunities facing the industry in Australia given the current situation with go-to manufacturing countries plus freight issues.

“The event is about creating connections and working together to address the challenges to help us all work towards a stronger, more resilient industry,” Watt said.

“We all know that what we are capable of onshore is world class, but tapping into the “returning onshore” and increased consumer sentiment to locally produced requires investment in equipment, staffing and skill development. We have a limited window to demonstrate that it is better and faster onshore and if we miss that window, that investment is at risk.”
