Pitney Bowes brings Riso GD down under

Print and mail company Pitney Bowes is partnering with print solutions expert Riso bringing the Riso GD onto Australian shores.

Customers will have the options of two printers the 9630 offering fast speeds and the 7730 offering lower operating costs.

Pitney Bowes says the 9630 has fast printing functionality combined with a rapid and stable paper supply results in a print speed of 160 pages per minute for A4 long edge feed, which according to Riso is the fastest in the world of its type. The 7730 offers speeds of 130ppm, with the trade-off of a lower operating cost, for lower volume work.

The company says the inkjet printing technology increases speed and reduces downtime in high-volume print production processes, and the Riso ComColour GD has all the necessary smarts to offer affordable colour print communications.

Stephen Darracott, country manager, mailing and shipping, ANZ, Pitney Bowes says, “The Riso GD is advantageous for print and mail due to variable data input, reduction in colour printing costs, speed and reduced click charge rates. Print shops and offset printers with high volume print runs would benefit the most from investing in a Riso GD series printer."

They are offered with a new optional EFI Fiery rip, which Pitney Bowes says improves the productivity and affordability of colour print, while making the end-to-end mailing process faster and more efficient.

Riso notes its quick-drying, oil-based pigment ink developed for the ComColor GD series prevents reverse-side staining of printed paper as well as preventing cockling, to allow for high-speed duplex inkjet printing. The ink is also resistant to degradation from light and water

Optional extras for the GD series include a high-capacity feeder capable of storing 4,000 sheets, and a high capacity stacker.
